The shipping company fills the cash register with 130 million

Charge Amps raised 130 million SEK from two Swedishbank funds. The funds will be used to expand into Europe but also pave the way for an IPO next year.

Known for investing in stylish chargers for electric cars, Charge Amps has hired Joachim Nordvall who was Koenigseggs’ design director. The company also uses recycled aluminum in shipping boxes, not the most common plastic.

The company was founded in 2012 and has grown rapidly, and sales have increased more than 100 percent annually since 2018. It is expected to reach 250 million SEK this year and from the start, companies have sold nearly 40,000 crates of cargo.

In addition to charging boxes, the product range also includes cables and cloud services suitable for home, commercial and office use as well as public environments.

The new funds will be used to increase its presence in Europe. 2021 will focus on the Nordic countries, the United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands.

The capital will also develop new products and business improvements ahead of the stock exchange listing scheduled for next year.
