To crown the newly rebuilt website, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared two childhood photos on the site’s homepage and it was adorable and understated.
One of the photos shows the young Prince Harry, 36, sitting on the shoulders of his mother, Princess Diana, as the late princes smile flashed. The second photo is equally sweet and shows Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, kneeling next to her little daughter, now 39 – both smiling as Ragland clutches Markle, who wears a dress with puffed shoulders and a thick white collar.
“I am my mother’s son. I am the mother of our son. Together we bring you Archewell,” the couple wrote in a “Message for 2021” on websiteThey initially launched in October.
“We believe in the best of humanity. Because we saw the best of humanity. We experienced compassion and kindness, from our mothers and strangers alike,” the message continues. “In the face of fear, struggle and pain, this can be easy to lose sight of. Together, we can choose to apply empathy.
The couple concludes the letter with their signature – “Harry and Meghan”: “We invite you to join us as we work to build a better world, one act of mercy at a time.”
The newly remodeled site appeared days after Markle and Harry dropped their first podcast episode Archewell Audio on Spotify. The couple made their forays into the podcast by Sharing the inscription From their one-year-old son Archie.
The young royal family’s name and his parents’ nonprofit organization were derived from the Greek word “arche”, which means “source of work,” the couple said in a statement shortly after they stepped down as prominent members of the royal family.
“We linked this concept to the charity that we were hoping to build one day, and it has become an inspiration for our son’s name,” they wrote.
“To do something meaningful, to do something important. Archewell is a noun that combines an ancient word for power and action, with one that evokes the deep resources on which all of us must rely. We look forward to launching Archewell when the time is right.”
It seems that now is the time.
