BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) — As directed by the Oregon Legislature through House Act 4157, the Oregon Department of Revenue will begin distributing $600 one-time assistance payments to more than 236,000 eligible families later this week.
The administration said Wednesday that payments will be received by direct deposit or check by July 1.
To qualify, families must have received the earned income tax credit on their 2020 tax returns and lived in Oregon in the last six months of 2020.
One-time assistance payments will be deposited directly into the bank accounts of 13,640 recipients and checks will be mailed to 99,647 recipients. A letter will also be sent to families who receive a direct deposit stating payment. Families who receive a paper check will include information about the payment on their check stub.
Approximately $141.8 million is expected to be distributed to 236,287 eligible recipients.
