Patricia was one of the most recognizable names for coaches on the market When The Lions hired him in February 2018. Patricia was knocked out of the Super Bowl match with the New England Patriots and was a successful defensive coach and coordinator under Bill Belischik for 11 years.
It is expected that attack coordinator Daryl Bevel will be appointed as interim head coach for the remainder of the season.
But his Detroit defenses were poor, and this laid the foundation for a 13-29-1 record in two and a half seasons.
When Patricia took the reins, the Lions were falling 9-7 straight records. They have not lost two-figure matches in five seasons.
His first year, Patricia went 6-10. Things only got worse in 2019, with the Lions leading 3–12-1. This year, a start 4-7 was enough to end Patricia’s experience.
The era of Patricia will be remembered for its porous defenses and epic strands. The only moment of hope came during the first three weeks of 2019, when the team started 2-0-1 before losing a staggering 12 out of 13 matches to finish third in the NFL.
Quinn was hired to Lions GM in 2016, to take over Martin Mayhew, after spending several years at the Patriots.
Lions fans have heard the stats a lot: one playoff win in 63 years. The franchise is one of only four that has never made it to the Super Bowl. In fact, the Lions have never won the NFC North title, despite only four teams.
