Well, the latest Intel Core i9-11900K 8 Core Rocket Lake CPU benchmark has leaked by the Chinese TechTuber and the results are a mixed bag for the 11th generation. The difference between this and the previous benchmarks is that the previous results are evaluated with an ES segment while the latest benchmarks are implemented on the QS chip which must be close to the retail unit.

Intel Core i9-11900K 8 Core & 16 Thread Rocket Lake Desktop CPU Specifications
The Intel Core i9-11900K will be the flagship 11th-generation Rocket Lake desktop processor. The slide will have 8 cores and 16 subjects. This will result in 16MB of L3 cache (2MB per core) and 4MB of L2 cache (512Kb per core). The CPU has a 3.50GHz base clock and a boost clock of 5.2GHz (1 core) and 4.80GHz (all cores).
The chip will also feature a thermal speed boost which should provide a 100MHz jump in the maximum clock frequency. That should result in a single-core boost clock of 5.3GHz, making it the first CPU to reach such a high frequency out of the box. However, remember that regardless of the use of Cypress Cove cores, the Core i9-11900K will have fewer cores and threads than the Intel Core i9-10900K. This is in part due to backporting of Cypress Cove onto a polished 14nm process node.
The CPU is said to feature a first-stage power limit of 125W which is a standard for the leading Intel SKU and a second-stage or PL2 power limit rated at 250W. This means that when the advertised maximum clock speeds are reached, the CPU can actually draw the said amount of wattage from the PSU making it one of the most popular octa-core chips ever produced. This might also explain why Intel didn’t use 10 cores and 20 threads in its 11th generation lineup because it would have become an energy-hungry monster for a chip that exceeds the 250-watt power limit.

Intel Core i9-11900K 8 Core vs Core i9-10900K 10 Core CPU Benchmarks with 5.2 GHz Overclock
Going straight back to the performance numbers, both processors were tested at a frequency of 5.2GHz overclocked across all cores. In CPU-z, Intel Core i9-11900K is 11% faster than Core i9-10900K in single-core tests but ends 12% slower in multi-core tests. On the Cinebench R15, the Intel Core i9-11900K again had a 12% lead over the Core i9-10900K but also finished 12% slower in the multi-core tests. The Cinebench R20 & Cinebench R23 results show a 16% gain of Core i9-11900K over its predecessor Core i9 but again, when it comes to multi-threaded performance, the CPU is no match for its predecessor.
In x264 1080p, the Intel Core i9-11900K loses to the Core i9-10900K at 5 frames per second. The same is true for V-Ray where the Core i9-10900K outperforms the Core i9-11900K by 14 MPaths.
