Tre Kronor plays its sixth match in the group stage against Slovakia, at 19.15 pm on Sunday.
All World Cup matches are played in the Latvian capital, Riga.
The match is shown on SVT.
Can take revenge after home failure
The last World Cup was a fiasco for hosts Slovakia, who finished fifth in the group and missed the qualifiers – but this year they look brighter for next rival Tri Kronor. Slovakia leads the group and is well placed at the table to secure the quarter-finals and thus avenge their fiasco at home in the spring of 2019.
It’s hard to rate Slovakia after a slap in the face
In the Ice Hockey World Cup, illogical results have replaced each other.
A telling example: Switzerland only lost once after four matches. It came against Tre Kronor, a historically poor performer, who won a full 7-0. On the other hand, Switzerland itself beat Slovakia 8-1 on Thursday. Despite this, it is Slovakia, not Sweden, that are heading towards the quarter-finals.
Leksand’s former duo tracked:
A lot could potentially be won for Tre Kronor if they can stop attacking duo Marek Hrivik and Peter Cihlaric, both of whom were key players at Lexand last season. The first became the king of points in the SHL and has scored two goals and four assists in the World Cup so far.
However, his colleague Peter Sihlarek was even sharper. The Slovak club scored three goals and five assists in five matches before Sunday’s match against Sweden. Thus, he is the strongest scorer in the entire World Cup.
Spitting against the Swiss – back against Tre Kronor
Slovakia didn’t have a fun game against Switzerland on Thursday and went down by a perfect 1-8 score – which caused disappointment.
After a blast in the third period, a frustrated Mislav Rozandic opted to spit in the direction of Swiss opponent Jonas Siegenthaler. For this, Rosandic was stopped in the 2-0 win over Denmark. And so the Slovakian hill was again available against Sweden, just as striker Christian Pospisil was also suspended for a match after a major interference in the match against Switzerland.

Only victory matters in a new fateful match مباراة
It is no exaggeration to say that qualifying has already begun for Sweden after shocking defeats against Denmark and Belarus and defeat to the Czech Republic.
A victory over Great Britain was a prerequisite for jumping into the quarter-finals in order to survive at all. The same applies to the more difficult-to-play Slovakia and also to the Russian Ice Hockey Federation team in the final round.
Sweden needs to climb among the top four in the group but is currently not outperforming sixth.
A long-awaited message after injuries
Sweden has already lost two of its most influential players, striker Karl Klingberg and defender Nils Lundqvist. Both finished playing in the World Cup after injury against Belarus and Switzerland respectively.
Therefore, it was a very welcome message for the pressured national team captain Johann Garbenlov when captain Henrik Tomerens sent on Saturday the message that he was ready to play against Slovakia despite the heavy blow at the end of the meeting with Great Britain.
