He mixed up and gave a little during the pre-season but when the seriousness started he delivered it straight away. At the SHL premiere, new possession Adam Tambellini scored four points and made a strong contribution to the win over Linköping.
After their hugely successful MoDo and Allsvenskan last season, many SHL clubs have opened their eyes to point shooter Adam Tambellini. Rögle was the club that won the tug-of-war and after a pre-season that was a bit ups and downs he really toned down for him at the SHL home premiere at the Katina Arena. The 25-year-old stood up for one goal and three assists as Rögle scored a superb win over the East Goths.
Of course this was a good start for the team and not the least for me. Although he’s nothing more than that and it’s important to look ahead now and try to improve a few things, he still says a little humbly and continues:
Of course it’s fun to get points because I know that’s the reason why Rögle is recruiting, but the most important thing is that the team plays well. I think we can do better than this and it might be needed as well.
What Adam Tambellini probably means is that despite six goals and three points, the team’s effort may have been a bit mixed in spite of a lot of things worthy of happiness.
– It was a good match that the first show and the victory was always the victory. Although I think this was our best match so far including training matches, there are things that we have to work on and we have great demands on ourselves within the team, he says and still talks about his surroundings:
Dennis (Everberg) and Ully (Palola) are both veterans who know how to handle the first show. It’s a pleasure to play both and it will help me get into the game better. It’s been a while since I’ve played this position but I’m feeling better and better.
After this start, he looks forward to continuing. The next match for the Rögle segment will be in Jönköping against HV71 within a week. Even if he knocked out that premiere with 1 + 3 in person and won the team, he knows what to expect.
Of course, I realize that I will not score four points in every league game. There are a lot of good teams here, and if you look at tonight’s opponent Linkoping who was one of my new acquaintances, it impressed me. They have many individually skilled players and good strong play. We’ll have to work hard for each point against all the teams, but we also see that as a huge challenge, as concludes Adam Tambellini, who could hardly have had a better start in his career at SHL personally.
