After a successful investment with Live at Liseberg 2017, we are now looking forward to next year’s summer gala. The first reservation is ready and on June 9 at 21.00, Stone Age Queens (USA) will be on the Grand Theater.
Queens of Stone Edge since its inception has introduced heavy country-based rocks straight out of Palm Desert, California, that continually challenge and propel the entire genre forward. Earlier this year, the band released their album Villains which clearly showed that they are a band at the top and also received a receipt with a Grammy nomination. Produced by Mark Ronson and described by music site Pitchfork as “equal parts disco hell and the Devil’s Experience you might care.” The first single “The Way You Used To Do” also came with a video by the very own Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund.
– Being able to present Queens of the Stone Age seems like a perfect way to start Live at Liseberg 2018, says Liseberg Entertainment Director Per Alexanderson.
Queens of the Stone Edge band consists of legendary guitarist and striker Josh Home who also founded the band, Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Schumann, Dean Fertita and John Tudor. The Senate album Villains is one of the strongest albums this year and went straight to # 1 in the UK, Australia, Canada and many other countries. In just seven days, nearly 100,000 copies were shipped on vinyl alone, making Villains the best-selling vinyl in the US, UK, and Germany, among other places. The album was also praised in Sweden and Expressen’s Anders Dalbum described the album as “QOTSA’s best release in fifteen years” Songs for the Deaf and continues with “Josh Homme broadens the board and develops rock again”.
It is a known fact that Queens of the Stone Age is one of the best live bands today. Now that the band has stopped off on Swedish soil for two concerts, nothing makes more sense than to go and try out their musical dances on site. A roar will sound from the main stage in Liseberg on June 9 – be sure of that.
With the Liseberg Annual Pass, you get entry to all summer parties for free and you can visit the park on all opening days of 2018. The perfect Christmas gift!
