The director’s version of “Death Stranding” is on its way to PS5, according to the game director, and we’ve already got our first look at the game.
The news was revealed during Summer Game Fest: Kickoff Live, and we got a trailer on the same crank, as presented by Hideo Kojima himself. The trailer appears to show new content for the movie “Death Stranding,” which came out in 2019, but it’s (unsurprisingly) a bit murky and showed Sam Bridges hiding in a box — a nice little nod to Solid Snake and Metal Gear Solid.
Full disclosure of the director’s version is “a few weeks away” according to Summer Game Fest host Geoff Keighley.

We already had a suspicion that Kojima Productions was working on a new project. In an interview with Al Hub Earlier this year, the company’s technical director, Yoji Shinkawa, said, “Well, yeah, I’m doing something, you can be sure of that, and I can tell we can announce something soon.”
The announcement came just months after Kojima Productions Hired a number of new developers To help out with a new studio game project.
We hope to hear more soon about Death Stranding Director’s Cut, including how to use your PS5 – and what the new content actually means.
