The reason may be that you are not getting proper rest.
We want it to be that simple, and sleep is all we need to recover. But there’s another kind of relief, says physician and researcher Sondra Dalton Smith.
Through his work, Dalton Smith has identified seven different types of recovery needed by both the body and the bud. Even if you sleep well at night, there may be other types of rest you need.

If your mind is thriving and you have a lot of balls in the air, mental rest may be just what you need. Anything that gives the brain a chance to rest from thoughts and focus is good. Many jobs involve problem solving and new ideas. This, in turn, means that you burn a lot of creative energy.
According to Dalton Smith, it is possible to replenish energy stores by seeking inspiration. It could be a creative hobby, listening to good music, or getting out into nature and having fun.
4. Emotional comfort
Many of us shut up our emotions and throw the key away. The reason may be out of consideration for others or that we don’t really have the ability to express ourselves. It takes a lot of energy anyway.
Emotional comfort can be achieved by processing thoughts and feelings, and perhaps even daring to share them with someone close to you.
5. Social Village
Others can give us energy, but they can also drain it. For the introverted person, time alone can be a great opportunity to recharge, but social comfort doesn’t have to happen entirely on its own. As long as you hang out with people who give you, and they give you energy instead of taking it, that works too.
6. Spiritual comfort
Saunders Dalton Smith describes spiritual comfort as something outside the physical and mental. For those of you who aren’t religious, this could mean, for example, that you’re participating in something that gives you a purpose – like volunteering or something else that makes sense.

What kind of rest do you need?
Most people need to tick all kinds of rest to function optimally. How much of each variable you need is more individualized.
It simply depends on what kind of energy you waste in most of your daily life. Dalton Smith’s advice is to think regularly about the type of healing you need. You don’t have to wait until the holidays to recharge your batteries.
We must have an ongoing process of recovery that we can integrate into our lives. The goal is to live a comfortable life where we can still produce at a high level, she says.
